A NEW fine dining restaurant offering an “intimate, 10-course experience” has opened on Anglesey.

Y Parlwr, on High Street, Rhosneigr, is being run in conjunction with the already-established Sandy Mount House.

Hefin Roberts is Y Parlwr’s head chef, and oversees Sandy Mount House as its executive chef.

At Y Parlwr, guests can enjoy a 10-course tasting menu, which can include a “wine flight” to pair with the dishes.

It is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and can cater for 20 covers.

“It’s a very unique dining experience, and there is nothing like this on the north of Anglesey,” Hefin said.

“We’re two different experiences. Sandy Mount is more family-friendly, whereas Y Parlwr is a more intimate, 10-course experience, with very limited bookings.

“We don’t turn tables; it’s yours for the night. It’s an experience of about three-and-a-half to four hours long; it’s a little bit different.

“We’ve got four menus – standard, vegetarian, carnitarian, and pescetarian. We try and cater for everybody.”

Hefin added: “It’s the same business (as Sandy Mount House); we just saw a gap in the market. We try and have fun with it; it’s not stuffy.

“We try to promote really good food, with fun. We’re taking the seriousness out of it, and doing it how we want to do it.

“The desserts are always a winner, and everyone loves the ‘sea’ elements on the menu. Even a lot of the crockery is made by me!”
