PLACES are filling up fast ahead of a charity sunrise trek up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

The hike up Wales’ highest mountain, hosted by Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith, will take place in the early hours of Sunday, July 23.

Fundraisers will have to pay a £25 sign up free and commit to raise a minimum of £100.

In return, they will be led up Yr Wyddfa by experienced staff from Aim Higher Mountain Skills.

Trekkers will also be treated to breakfast baps and hot drinks upon return and will have the opportunity to get some of the "most sought after" photographs in the UK.

Andy Everley, Event organiser for the hospices, said: “Lace up your boots and come join us on an exhilarating and unforgettable sunrise hike up the highest mountain in Wales, Yr Wyddfa.

“We are excited to announce that also included as part of your registration is this custom Buff head scarf (pictured), but you will need to sign up and summit Yr Wyddfa to see what is on the other side.

The challenge is sponsored by Wrexham’s Net World Sports.

The event is open to everybody aged 16 years plus (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult) and teams are also welcome.

Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices in Conwy and Oswestry support more than 750 families who are either caring for a terminally ill child, or whose child has died.

It costs £7.5 million every year to run their services and 80 per cent of this is spent on care.
