A MAN from Caernarfon who was found guilty of assault and affray in Conwy has been handed a suspended sentence and unpaid work.
Mathew Roberts, 32, of Bro Helen, was accused of assaulting Charles Alan Sayle Junior, causing him actual bodily harm, in Conwy on June 26, 2021.
He was also accused of affray – using or threatening unlawful violence towards others, causing them to fear for their safety – in Conwy on the same date.
Mr Roberts was found guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 18.

For the two offences, he was handed a concurrent 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He was also ordered to complete 148 hours of unpaid work.
Mr Roberts must also pay £1,000 in compensation, as well as £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
He is to pay this total of £1,085 in monthly instalments of £200 from June 1.
