A MAN from Holyhead was fined after he travelled by train without having paid his fare.
Daniel Whitney, 28, of Queens Park, was accused of travelling between Holyhead and Bangor on November 11, 2021 having not paid his £9.70 fare and with intent to avoid such payment.
A guilty verdict was proved in absence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 20.

Mr Whitney was ordered to pay a fine of £220, as well as compensation of £9.70, the value of the fare he failed to pay.
He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and £180 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This amounted to a total of £443.70, to be paid by June 17.
