A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a crash in Bangor earlier today (April 8).
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services were called to Garth Road outside the Boatyard Inn in Bangor at 10:55 to reports of a road traffic collision involving an off-road motorcycle.
The road was soon closed as North Wales Police and Welsh Air Ambulance Service remained at the scene.
An Air Ambulance emergency ambulance and a paramedic in a rapid response car attended the crash.
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Our investigation is now underway to establish the full circumstances of the collision in which a man has sadly lost his life.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
“We are appealing to anyone with any information in relation to the collision, or who saw off-road motorcycles being ridden in the Beach Road/Garth Road area this morning prior to the collision to make contact with us.”
North Wales Police are now appealing to anyone witnessed the collision, has relevant dashcam footage or has any information which could help the investigation to get in touch via their website or by calling 101, quoting incident number B048463.
