ANGLESEY athlete Osian Perrin turned in another superb medal-winning performance at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham at the weekend.

In the 3,000 metres, the Menai Track and Field Club member was in typical gutsy mood, picking up the pace in the closing stages.

Tonbridge’s James West beat him to the line by a single second, but Osian had the double satisfaction of a silver medal and a PB of 7-50.86.

After the race, he said it was the fastest track he had run on and the large crowd also spurred him on.

He now has his sights set firmly on the European under-23 championships in Finland in July, when he will be competing in the 5,000 and 10,000 metres.
