IMPROVING Bethesda clinched their second away win in seven days to move clear of the relegation zone thanks to a 12-3 success at Dolgellau.

The result sees Dol’ move into the WRU National League Division One North’s bottom two following the setback, and Pesda made an instant impact by opening the scoring on ten minutes when prop Paul Thomas powered over after a well-worked lineout move.

The visitors had to withstand heavy pressure in difficult conditions after taking the lead, but the home attacking could not find a way past the resolute rearguard during a crucial stage of the contest.

They were made to pay on 25 minutes when a devastating counter-attack from the away side saw centre Huw Williams put in full-back Gethin Long for the try. Long dusted himself down to fire over the conversion for what turned out to be their last points of the encounter.

After the break saw the home side continue to enjoy long periods of possession, but they lacked a cutting edge throughout and only had a Gerwyn Thomas free-kick to show for their efforts during a dominant defensive display from the visiting side.
