Surprise package Eintracht Frankfurt moved up to third in the Bundesliga table following an impressive 2-1 comeback victory against RB Leipzig.
RB Leipzig raced into a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute following a wonderful passing move which was finished off with a calm first-time strike by Jean-Kevin Augustin from Konrad Laimer’s square pass.
Timothy Chandler levelled just eight minutes later after the visitors failed to deal with a Marius Wolf corner before David Abraham flicked the ball for the wing-back to drill in from close range at the far post.
Frankfurt took the lead after 26 minutes when the hosts capitalised on a slack header from Will Orban for Ante Rebic to get behind the RB Leipzig defence before cutting back for Kevin-Prince Boateng to fire home.
Rebic fired straight at visiting goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi just before the break, while Danny da Costa blazed over the crossbar and Sebastien Haller headed wide as Frankfurt failed to extend their lead.
