JD CYMRU North clubs will see their first competitive action of the season when the Nathaniel MG Cup gets underway this weekend.

This will be the first time that those in the second-tier have had a meaningful fixtures since the Football Association of Wales curtailed the previous campaign due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the draw for the money-spinning competition made in recent days.

The top two unpromoted teams from the Tier 2 leagues last season – Prestatyn Town and Swansea University - the two relegated JD Cymru Premier clubs and the 12 teams currently playing in Tier 1 will join the competition in the second round.

Sean Eardley’s first game in-charge of Llandudno sees them make the tricky-looking trip to Holyhead Hotspur, with Bangor City welcoming a revamped Gresford Athletic for arguably the tie of the round in the northern section.

Conwy Borough will entertain Ruthin Town in what is sure to be a hotly contested tie, with Colwyn Bay also aiming to progress at Buckley Town.

Newly promoted Holywell Town were drawn at home to Llanidloes Town, and Llangefni Town’s difficult trek to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant rounds off the north ties.
