MAJOR golfing events in the region have been postponed.

As Wales Golf continues to monitor the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak, the current shutdown of Welsh golf clubs and the effect of bringing groups of people together at various championships, a number of events have been postponed or cancelled.

Among the postponed events is the ladies' amateur championships, which was scheduled to be played at Rhuddlan Golf Club between May 23 and 25.

A junior tour event set for Mold Golf Club on April 16 has been cancelled, as has the Welsh open youths competition at Llandudno (Maesdu) Golf Club from May 29-31.

“Fitting in with Government guidance, along with the welfare and health of all our prospective competitors, are our top priorities as we try to plan ahead in these difficult times,” said Wales Golf championships manager David Wilson.

“All postponed and cancelled entries will be eligible to receive a full refund.”
