GWALCHMAI picked up a huge scalp on their way to the Barritt Cup third round with a 2-0 home success over Llanrug United.
The fourth-tier side dumped the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One outfit from the competition at the second round stage following a tremendous display in front of their fans, and they were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead on 19 minutes with a penalty.
Prolific striker Marc Evans kept his cool to despatch the spot kick with ease and break the deadlock.
The hosts had to withstand some considerable pressure following the goal and during the early stages of the second half, but they thwarted any threat and doubled their lead thanks to a Gary Allman strike on 70 minutes to book their place in the hat.
Aberffraw also secured a third-round berth thanks to an eye-catching 3-2 victory at Llannefydd.
Things did not begin well for the visitors as Luke Appleby put Llan ahead on seven minutes, but goals from Nathan Moore, Gary Bolton and Matty Reynolds gave them a commanding cushion heading into the final quarter.
A tense ending was assured when Appleby tucked in his second of the tie, but Breffo managed to get over the line and progress.
There was no such luck for Gaerwen, who produced a fine effort before eventually falling to a 1-0 home loss against Denbigh Town.
The Division Two side managed to run the third-tier championship contenders all the way before eventually bowing out, with a strike from skipper Mark Roberts on 11 minutes enough to see the away side progress.
Llanberis were undone by a second half goal from Matty Griffiths in their 1-0 loss to Kinmel Bay, and Mynydd Llandegai bowed out after they were beaten 5-1 at home by Greenfield.
