RGC mainstay Will Bryan has said goodbye to the club after agreeing a deal with Dings Crusaders.

The forward has been a hugely influential member of the squad after coming through the Gogs’ Academy system, helping the club rise to the Indigo Group Premiership and secure the WRU National Cup for the first time in their history.

Bryan’s availability has been limited during the season after accepting a new job in Bristol, but he did manage to join a distinguished few that have now made 100 appearances for the club.

Josh Leach, who has played with and coached Bryan during his time at Stadiwm Zip World in Colwyn Bay, paid a glowing tribute to one of RGC’s most loyal servants.

Speaking to the RGC website, he said: “Having been a part of the RGC programme since U15s, Will has been a great member of the Age Grade and Senior teams.

“From his senior debut against Neath in that historic cup win, all the way through to his 100th appearance against Ebbw Vale in November he has played a big part for RGC.

"Since accepting an apprenticeship in Bristol, Will continued to make himself available to RGC, so it was great to see him join the 100 club, and we wish him all the best both on and off the field."

RGC finally end an extended period of inactivity this Saturday when they welcome Carmarthen Quins, which has left Leach and the rest of the Gogs’ coaching staff working on ways for players to remain in peak condition, in addition to getting some key figures back from injury for the vital run in.

“You can look at it both ways, with advantages including mentally – allowing players some time to switch off, and a week to reboot and refresh,” added Leach.

“It is also an opportunity to get any bumps and niggles a chance to recover which again can make a huge difference with the games that await us.

“During the season it is always game to game, and you are in that moment of playing then preparing, and that pattern continues week in week out. “We will also have a loaded back end to the season which will include several away games, so making sure we get the balance right with the players at this stage of the season will be crucial.”
