TREARDDUR Bay Bulls kept their slim Gwynedd League title hopes alive with a convincing 5-1 home success over Bro Goronwy.

The one-time leaders overcame a spirited effort from the visitors before emerging with three points, and they got off to the perfect start when Gwynfor Owen converted a chance with just four on the clock.

This was followed by another that arrived on the half hour mark from Justin Williams, and Iolo Jones all-but secured the points just before the break with the Bulls’ third with 37 gone.

After the interval saw Hywel Jones notch a fourth during the opening exchanges on 53 minutes, and despite a Jordan Edney consolation for the away side on 70, Williams’ second of the game with 86 gone wrapped up the scoring.

Nefyn United moved into fourth thanks to a resounding 6-1 home rout over Llanystumdwy.

A brace apiece from Dylan Sion and Carl Jones did the majority of the damage, with Deio Gwilym and Iolo Jones also on target for the hosts. Darren Parry netted Llan’s solitary effort in the first period.

Brad Bland found the net on two occasions to ease Glantraeth’s relegation worries in a 3-1 home triumph over Caergybi, who had Gary Jo Owen on target, and goals from Wayne Jones and Gavin Davies were enough for Talysarn Celts to secure a 2-0 victory over Llangoed.

Llannerchymedd are still searching for their first point of the season after they were downed 4-1 at Waunfawr thanks to strikes from Osian Glyn, Guto Llewelyn, Rhys Roberts and Adam Jones.
