BODEDERN Athletic moved up to sixth in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One thanks to a 5-0 home win over St Asaph City.
An encouraging start from the visitors restricted their opponents to little goal-mouth action during the opening exchanges, but they were undone on 16 minutes when Casey Boylan took advantage of some space and finished well.
Things went from bad to worse for City soon after when Boylan broke clear on 21 minutes to slot in his second of the contest, and their fate was all-but sealed just before the break when another good spell of possession saw Jamie Jones notch a third with 42 on the clock.
After the break saw the home side continue to press and they were rewarded once again on 54 minutes when Callum Thomas’ strike found its way into the net, and a miserable afternoon at the office for the Saints’ was complete on the hour mark when James McMinimee rounded off the scoring.
Llanrug United’s recent resurgence continued with a resounding 5-0 triumph at Llandyrnog United.
A brace from Jonathan Sadler did the majority of the damage, with Gavin Jones, Kev Lloyd and Iwan Edwards also on target for the visitors.
Steve Jones’ stoppage time strike gave Penrhyndeudraeth a dramatic 4-3 home victory over Prestatyn Sports, with goals from Meilir Edwards, Josh Hughes and Rhys Hughes also contributing to their success.
There was no such luck for Llanberis, who only had an Arwyn Price consolation to show from their heavy 6-1 loss at in-form Glan Conwy, and Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs conceded twice in the final five minutes in a 21- reverse at Greenfield.
