HOLYHEAD Hotspur have bolstered their squad with the signings of Luke Roberts and Asa Thomas.
The talented duo join-up with the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One leaders from Holyhead Town, who formally had their offer to resign from tier four accepted by league officials last week.
Both Roberts and Thomas have enjoyed successful spells with the Holy Islanders’ in the past, and manager Darren Garmey is thrilled to acquire both ahead of their expected promotion push.
He said: “We are made up to bring Luke back in to strengthen our defensive options.
“Having had him at the club as a young lad we know exactly what he is capable of and what he will add to the squad. He has been a long-term target and when the opportunity came up we did not think twice.
“Again, with Asa it was an opportunity we could not let pass. It’s not every day you get the chance to sign such a proven goal scorer midway through the season.
“We are lucky to already have a quality attack but with the games coming thick and fast and us hoping to be in the title mix we need to be prepared.”
Thomas is widely regarded as one of the best finishers anywhere in the region and played a leading role for the Harbourmen this term, forming a prolific partnership with Gary Jo Owen as they led Division Two for a brief period thanks to a series of exceptional results.
Roberts has marshalled their back-line in accomplished fashion during a testing series of fixtures recently, and his presence within the squad for Spurs’ is another massive boost as they look to return to the JD Cymru North at the first time of asking.
