LLANDUDNO Albion turned on the style to reach the FAW Trophy fifth round with a 5-2 win at Carno.

A blistering start from Darren Jones’ men saw them go ahead on 14 minutes when Dave Maddock turned in a Ricky Jones delivery to break the deadlock, and they added to their tally soon after courtesy of a Joe Morgan finish with 25 on the clock.

Another superb spell of possession from the visitors saw Maddock despatch his second of the tie on 31 minutes, and a scintillating first half concluded on a positive note from an Albion perspective as Jack Williams produced a finish of genuine quality to all-but seal progression with 45 to play.

The home side raised the tempo after the break and netted their first through Joe Morris on 51 minutes, and despite being down to nine men midway through the half Albion restored their four-goal cushion on 83 when Adam Hold found the net.

Callum Jones netted another consolation for the home side on 83 minutes, which failed to take the gloss off an outstanding display from the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title hopefuls.

Llanrwst United also reached the next round with an eye-catching 3-1 triumph at Llay Welfare.

Goals from Sam Roberts and Leon Doran gave the in-form Rwsters’ a lead heading into the break, and they wrapped things up late on when a quick break was finished off in fine fashion by Sam Jones.
