KINMEL Bay were undone by hotshot Marc Evans in their 5-2 home loss at the hands of Gwalchmai.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two side had no answer for the former Llandudno and Melville United striker, failing to hold on to a two-goal advantage early on to end their impressive run of recent results.

Despite the eventual outcome it was the home side who began the better and opened the scoring on nine minutes thanks to a superb strike from Kie Ellis, and this was followed by another that arrived courtesy of Matthew Marsh-Evans with 12 on the clock.

That was as good as it got for the hosts, with the visitors getting themselves back into the tie on 20 minutes when Evans was presented with a chance, and he duly despatched the opportunity for his first of the game.

Evans was on hand to level matters with another well-taken finish on 28 minutes, and the experienced forward was once again the beneficiary of some outstanding approach play on 40 to secure his hat-trick and give his side a slender cushion at the break.

After the interval saw the home side try valiantly to get themselves back on level terms, but they were unable to take any of the chances that came their way and were undone yet again on 50 minutes when Evans pounced to slot his fourth of the afternoon.

Bay threw everything at the opponents in the closing stages in pursuit of salvaging something from the encounter, but they were left exposed on 85 minutes as a quick break presented another chance to Evans, and he made no mistake with the finish to secure his fifth goal of the game to round off the scoring.

The result leaves Kinmel Bay in sixth spot ahead of their long trip to take on Holyhead Town this Saturday.
