LLANGEFNI Town manager Chris Roberts pulled no punches after his side returned to action with a 1-0 home loss to Guilsfield.

The newly-promoted JD Cymru North side were unable to pick up anything from their home clash after a period of inactivity due to postponements and the uneven number of teams within the division, and Cefni face another pivotal clash in their quest for survival this Saturday when they travel to Corwen (2.30pm).

Roberts, said: “It is disappointing to come away with another loss. We haven’t played for a number of weeks but a mistake has cost us again.

“Looking back at the fixtures we have had so far it’s the stupid little mistakes that are hurting us and in this league you cannot get away with it.

“We could have scored one or two in the first half but in the second we didn’t come out of the changing room and I have told the lads that is just not acceptable.

“If we carry on as we are then we are going to be in trouble. The match sharpness wasn’t there but we can’t use that as an excuse as we had the chances to win the game and I don’t think they had many of note.

“The lads should be working on their own and we have been training so not playing is no excuse for that performance. We dust ourselves off not ahead of another tough match at Corwen.

“We have got to look at ourselves as we are just not scoring and something has to change. I told a few of them they are now on their last chance.”

The home side went into the break all square after spurning a couple of good opportunities in the first half, but the crucial moment arrived after the break when Jake Cook pounced to give the away side a slender advantage they managed to hold onto for the remainder of the contest.
