BRO Goronwy moved up to third in the Gwynedd League standings with a resounding 6-0 home success against Llannerchymedd.

The title hopefuls made light work of their latest outing over the struggling basement dwellers, going ahead after just seven minutes when Jordan Edney’s neat finish broke the deadlock.

This was followed by another immediately after the restart when Jac Thomas found the net with eight on the clock, and Edney was the beneficiary of some more prolonged possession on 21 minutes to steer in his second of the afternoon.

The home side secured another valuable three points on the half hour mark when an Arron Heald strike found the corner, and they concluded a sensational first half in fine style thanks to a George Silver effort with three remaining of the period.

After the break saw the tempo noticeably slow as the hosts consolidated their unassailable advantage, but they did manage to find the net one more time which arrived courtesy of Gareth Jones on 75 minutes to complete the rout.

Ogwen Tigers now occupy tenth spot following an eye-catching 4-2 victory at Llangoed.

Tomos Eames got the visitors off to a flyer with the opener on four minutes, but they went into the break all-square thanks to a Wayne Thomas leveller on 14.

A standout performance in front of goal after the interval from Leon Owen decided the contest, with the player hitting a hat-trick in the space of 21 minutes to secure the points.
