THERE was cup action galore in the Anglesey League over the weekend.

On Friday night, Arriva Bangor progressed to the second round of the Lucas Oil Cup with an 8-2 win over Llandegfan.

Scott Hughes (4), Dion Williams (3) and Sammie Williams struck for The Busmen and Paul Jones and Dale Rowlands were on target for the visitors.

Also through are Llanfairpwll -- who beat Bodorgan 4-3 after Extra Time. Jack Davies hit the eventual winner after Elliot Jones and Cai Evans (2) had bagged the other goals for the visitors. Luke Allaway, Ioan Thomas and Aron Owen scored for Bod.

The biggest win of the round went to Cemaes Bay - who beat Holyhead Town Reserves 9-0. Lewis Connor hit four and Steven Whittaker, Daniel Jones, Luke McKittrick, Ryan Folksman and Nick Owen completed the emphatic scoreline.

In the second round of the Megan Cup - holders Holyhead Hotspur Reserves became the first team to beat Mountain Rangers this season with a 4-1 victory. Deian Parry (2), Casey Gregg and Curt Williams on target for the visitors and 16-year-old Osian Hughes-Jones scoring for The Rangers.

In the Anglesey League itself, Cefni picked up their second victory of the campaign with a 2-0 win at home to Pentraeth Reserves thanks to goals from Ben Wright and player-manager Grahame Jones.
