BETHESDA extended their sensational start to the Specsavers National League Division One North season with a 36-3 victory over Caernarfon.
The in-form hosts produced another performance of genuine quality to emerge victorious at the expense of the Cofis, who began the game well and went ahead after just four minutes through a well-struck penalty from Aled Jones.
This joy proved to be short-lived for the remainder of the clash, with the home side notching their first points a minute after the restart when a sweeping attack saw Aaron Roberts go over in the corner.
Darren Jones crossed the white wash to extend their advantage to seven heading into the interval, and they pulled further clear after the interval when centre Gwyn Williams capitalised on a handling error for their third score of the afternoon on 47 minutes. Gerwyn Thomas added the extras.
A significant period of dominance followed from Pesda during the second period, which resulted in Arwyn Griffith, Mathew Buchanan and second-row Dylan Owen all notch tries to complete the rout, with Thomas despatching two of the conversion attempts for the title hopefuls.
Llangefni also picked up an important win thanks to a 26-12 bonus point triumph at Dolgellau, but there was no such luck for Bro Ffestiniog and Pwllheli, who were beaten by Ruthin and Nant Conwy respectively.
Holyhead’s outstanding start to the Division Three North season was extended thanks to a 43-20 win over Pwllheli 2nds, and Menai Bridge dug deep to seal a 16-15 home success over Denbigh 2nds.
