TREARDDUR Bay Bulls extended their advantage at the Gwynedd League summit with a 3-1 home win over Caergybi.
The long-time pacesetters are now five points clear of defending champions Menai Bridge Tigers following their latest success, and they are six ahead of Bangor 1876 having played three games more.
A positive start from the home side in difficult conditions saw them take the lead on the quarter hour mark when Justin Williams found the net, and they doubled their tally after the break when another fine passage of play was finished off by Tom Hadley with 52 on the clock.
This was met by a swift response from the visitors, who reduced the arrears on 70 minutes through Nathan Lewis, but the Bulls finally secured three points with 80 gone thanks to a superb strike from Dave Webb.
Llangoed picked up their second home victory of the season thanks to a 6-1 rout over Bethesda Athletic.
Wayne Thomas was in ruthless mood throughout the contest and was rewarded for a clinical display with a hat-trick, which was coupled with goals from Sam Gregson (2) and Llion Roberts to round off the scoring for the hosts. Andy Clarke netted Athletic’s consolation.
Ogwen Tigers also got their campaign back on track with a hard-fought 3-2 triumph at Llanystumdwy.
The away side got their noses in front on four minutes through Mark Wilson but went into the break a goal down thanks to quick fire efforts from Darren Parry and Kyle Williams.
An unfortunate own goal from Karl Antonize on 47 minutes restored parity to the score line, and the visitors grabbed the bragging rights late on when Tomos Eames converted from the penalty spot with ten remaining.
