CAERNARFON Town’s sensational start to the season has seen two influential members of the set-up scoop individual awards.

The JD Cymru Premier high-flyers put together an incredible unbeaten run during September, something which saw Sean Eardley pick up the Manager of the Month Award.

The former Llandudno coach and understudy to Iwan Williams has been a revelation at the Cofis’ since taking over at the helm, and the club looks to have already avoided any second season struggles that sometimes come to fruition for sides that have done well during their first top flight season.

Eardley has steered the Canaries to fifth spot in the standings prior to their trip to Connah’s Quay Nomads on Tuesday evening, and there was further cause for celebration as midfield playmaker Leo Smith was named Player of the Month for September.

A post on Eardley’s Twitter account, read: “Delighted to pick up the Manager of the Month for September.

“Every manager will say it but it’s true, if it wasn’t for my players and coaching staff working hard week in and week out I wouldn’t be in this position.”

A summer signing following his release by Wrexham, Smith has been one of the standout Town performers during the initial stages of the campaign, picking up where he left off after a successful loan spell last term.
