BATTLING qualities were apparent from Llanuwchllyn before they departed this season's Wrexham Area League Premier Division Cup.
The Gwynedd villagers trailed hosts Saltney Town 3-1 during last Saturday's tie, but Llan battled back to three-apiece to force extra time.
However, one further strike would seal Saltney's progress via a 4-3 margin.
Joe Evans, Iolo Gwyn and an own goal made up Llanuwchllyn's tally on the day.
Elsewhere, Bala Town Reserves departed the Reserves / Colts Division Cup with a 3-0 home loss at the hands of Connah's Quay Nomads.
Turning to the league and Ruthin Town Development claimed a 3-1 home success versus Cefn Albion Reserves.
Andy Hession (2) and Robbie Williams were on target for Ruthin.
Joseph Morris grabbed Llangollen Town Reserves' goal in their 5-1 loss at the hands of Rhydymwyn Reserves.
