BANGOR City got their JD Cymru North campaign back on track with an impressive 3-2 home win over Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.

The Citizens’ secured an important three points under the watchful eye of new manager Pedro Pasculli at the Eurogold Stadium, emerging victorious by the odd goal against a side that sat second in the standings prior to the fixture.

Pasculli will be in the hotseat for City’s next league outing, which will see them travel to Ruthin Town on Saturday (2.30pm).

After dominated possession for long periods of the first half, the home side fell behind on the half hour mark when Tom Gale finished well after good work in the build-up by Iwan Matthews.

The home side remained undeterred despite the setback and they went into the break all square thanks to a stunning stoppage time strike from Aldair Neto that found the top corner.

After the break saw the hosts grab the initiative for the first time in the contest, which came from a Massimo Sammartino effort after he was set-up expertly by Francesco Serafino with 48 on the clock.

A host of chances came and went for the home side following the goal as they looked to put the game to bed, and they were made to pay for their lack of efficiency in front of goal on 74 minutes when Llan levelled yet against thanks to a Dan Hindley finish after more exceptional approach play from Matthews.

With the game heading towards a stalemate, the hosts managed to pull one attacking moment out of the bag late on to seal a hugely important win, which came when Serafino successfully converted from the spot with virtually the final action of a pulsating clash.
