LLANGEFNI Town picked up a hugely important result with a 2-0 home triumph over former Europa League qualifiers Llandudno.
The newly promoted JD Cymru North side were at their resilient best at Cae Bob Parry to secure another crucial three points, which was their third win of the campaign to date.
Chris Roberts’ side face an extremely stern test of their credentials next Saturday when they make the daunting trop to second tier leaders Prestatyn Town (2.30pm).
The home side made an imposing start to the contest and went ahead on 12 minutes when veteran Steve Kehoe unleashed a ferocious effort that gave Tudno stopper Shaun Pearson no chance.
This was almost met by an instant response from the visitors, with Robbie Parry firing an effort narrowly after a fine piece of individual skill by Aaron Pomeyie.
In-form striker Dean Seager came within inches of levelling matters on 44 minutes when his attempt sailed just wide, and they were made to pay for their lack of conviction in front of goal shortly following the interval when gifted playmaker Jamie Roberts made the most of some space to double Cefni’s advantage with 51 on the clock.
Home custodian Tyler French had to be at his best to divert a thumping long-range effort from Parry on 66 minutes, which proved to be last opportunity of note for either side.
This gave Cefni a vital three points as they look to cement their place within the division, but things will not be easy this weekend with all-conquering Prestatyn sitting pretty at the top of the standings after an exceptional opening to the campaign.
