CAERNARFON Cricket Club have set-up a crowdfunding page to make their promotion dream become a reality.

The North Wales Cricket League Division Four champions achieved the crown on the final day of the campaign last month, but they we refused a place in the third-tier due to their artificial wicket.

The ambitious club are making plans to create a new grass wicket in order to achieve promotion after a dominant season, and they are asking people to donate online in order to reach their £5,000 target.

In addition to this cause, the Cofis’ are also in the process of submitting a planning application for a new pavilion at their picturesque base, which will also see them construction of training nets that will benefit the entire set-up.

It proved to be a season to remember for the club on their way to the title, with Ian Morgan emerging as the league’s top wicket-taker after narrowly pipping teammate Llyr Erddyn Davies thanks to a superb performance in their final outing.

Morgan’s overall influence saw him achieve the most runs for the club, and wicketkeeper Grant Peisley was the top performing player in the league at his position for the fourth consecutive year.

Caernarfon Cricket Club was founded in 2015 and has gone from strength-to-strength since its inception, winning the Gwynedd and Anglesey mid-week T20 league in addition to their exploits within the North Wales League.
