MENAI Bridge Tigers moved into second spot in the Gwynedd League standings thanks to a 3-1 home win over Ogwen Tigers.

The defending champions produced another fine attacking display that saw them open the scoring on 22 minutes when Callum Davidson found the net, and they added to their tally soon after when David Baston’s neat finish doubled their advantage.

After the break saw the visitors get themselves back into the contest when Thomas Eames converted a chance on 78 minutes, but Bridge weathered the storm and sealed the points a minute from time as Davidson despatched his second of the afternoon.

Bontnewydd slipped to four position after they were beaten 3-2 at home by Llanystumdwy.

Goals from Guto Roberts, Darren Parry and Lewis Calvin were enough to give the away side an important three points, with Josh Williams and Morgan Roberts on target for the hosts.

First half strikes from Meurig Parry and Dylan Hughes secured a 2-0 victory for Waunfawr at home to Bro Goronwy, and the duo of Steve Jones and Dylan Jones hit the net for Nefyn United in their 2-1 success over Llangoed.
