BANGOR 1876 extended their 100 per cent Gwynedd League record with a 4-2 come-from-behind victory at Talysarn Celts.

Mel Jones’ side picked themselves up after an early setback to clinch another three points and maintain their incredible run during their first season since forming earlier this year.

Despite the eventual result it was the home side who drew first blood when Glyn Tomos took advantage of some hesitant defending to fire in the opener from long range after just nine minutes.

This was met by a strong response from the visitors, who got back on level terms when Dylan Williams latched on to a Les Davies flick before finding the corner with 31 on the clock.

There was still time for further drama at the end of the first period, with Davies going from provider to scorer in stoppage time when he unleashed a ferocious free kick into the top corner.

After the break saw the away side up the tempo and they were handed a golden opportunity to seal the points on 49 minutes from the penalty spot, which Jamie Petrie duly converted to double their advantage.

The visitors were now in rampant mood and another impressive attacking move brought further rewards on 61 minutes when Petrie notched his second of the afternoon after a sensational run from Davies in the build-up.

Credit to the home side, they kept plugging away and managed another consolation on 75 minutes when Gerwyn Williams converted a chance, but it failed to have an impact on the overall outcome of the contest.
