BANGOR City’s unbeaten JD Cymru North record came to an end following a 3-2 home loss at the hands of Llandudno.

The Citizens’ tasted defeat for the first time this season against the recently relegated JD Cymru Premier side, and they face another stern test of their credentials this Saturday when Stephan Vaughan Jr’s side make the trip to early pacesetters Prestatyn Town, who are currently five points clear after a narrow win at Porthmadog.

The away side were rewarded for a bright start with the opener on 19 minutes that came from Dean Seager, who despatched a penalty to notch his fifth goal in eight league games so far this term.

This provoked a strong response from the home side, who got back on level terms thanks to a brilliant individual goal from Aldair Neto, who beat a number of challenges before unleashing an effort into the far corner on 33 minutes.

After the break saw City almost seize the initiative when Ashley Ruane went close with an effort on 52 minutes, but they did not have to wait much longer for a second which came through a fine header from Emmanuel Agyemang with 67 on the clock.

Tudno were handed another lease of life on 69 minutes when they were awarded their second spot kick of the afternoon, and former Citizens’ standout Robbie Parry held his nerve to score against his former club.

There was still time for further drama as the away side went ahead once again immediately following the restart when substitute Alfons Fosu-Mensah prodded home from close range after some exceptional skill in the build-up from Aaron Pomeyie.

City threw everything at their opponents in the closing stages in search of an equaliser, but their efforts were met by fierce resistance from the Tudno rear-guard to seal an eye-catching win.
