LLANDUDNO secured local bragging rights thanks to a 4-1 friendly win over Llandudno Albion at the Giant Hospitality Stadium.

This was the first real fixture between the two sides since Albion’s inception, with the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One side acquitting themselves well against the recently relegated top-flight outfit.

Matthew Jones’ side made a bright start to the game and took a one-goal cushion into the break thanks to a neat finish from Bryan Roberts, who joined the club earlier this summer from nearby FAW Tier 2 North League rivals Conwy Borough.

After the break saw Tudno extend their advantage when Sam Downey turned in a superb delivery from Robbie Parry for his first goal since joining from Denbigh Town, and they trebled their tally soon after when club legend Lee Thomas marked his return to the set-up with a goal after converting from close range.

Talented youngster Adam Montgomery turned in a hugely encouraging performance for his hometown club, and he was rewarded with his first senior goal to round off the scoring from a Tudno perspective after another spell of possession.

Credit to Darren Jones’ side, they kept asking the opposing rearguard questions right until the death and managed to get a consolation for their efforts when Adam Hold turned in an opportunity to reduce the arrears.
