BANGOR City have secured the services of another foreign player to further boost their squad for the upcoming campaign.

The Citizens’ confirmed that central defender Lucas German Surber has arrived at the EuroGold Stadium following a spell with Sancolombano Calcio.

The 27-year-old Argentinian joins from the Italian outfit on amateur terms and follows Massimo Sammartino and Francesco Serafino, among others, in landing at the FAW Tier 2 North League outfit.

Director of football Max Leghissa, said: “Lucas is a strong, dominant and physical player with good experience of playing in a number of countries.

“His physicality, as well as his personality, will prove to be a great addition to the newly-assembled playing squad and we at the club look forward to working with him.

This is the latest in a series of unprecedented moves from manager Stephen Vaughan Jnr and Leghissa, with City set to be the first ever club operating within the domestic system to field a side with no Welsh player operating within it.

What division they will be playing in remains to be seen, with another Football Association of Wales charge regarding an unregistered player putting their second-tier status in jeopardy once more.

The transfer is subject to approval from the governing body, who hit the club with a transfer ban that prevent them from signing any player to a professional contract until the January transfer window.
