CAERNARFON occupy first spot in the North Wales Cricket League Division Four standings thanks to an emphatic ten-wicket win at Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nds.

The Cofis’ wasted no time in coming away with another maximum victory to further enhance their promotion hopes, and the result sees them move one point ahead of Conwy Seconds in their quest for the crown.

A stunning effort in the field from the away side saw the skittle their opponents for just 30 all out, with Simon Davis producing a spell of genuine quality to come away with a five-wicket haul for the loss of a solitary run.

Llyr Erddyn Davies and Monis Altaf helped themselves to a pair of scalps apiece for the combined expense of 12, and opener Nicholas Woodcock top scored with six.

As expected, the away side reached their required target with minimal fuss and without the loss of a single wicket thanks to Jason Parry’s unbeaten 21 and a score of seven not out from Huw Erddyn Davies.

The promotion hopefuls will look to continue their fine recent form on July 13 when they take on championship rivals Conwy 2nds.
