RGC face a stern test of their credentials as fixtures for the newly named Indigo Premiership were published.

The Gogs’ will welcome triple champions Merthyr to Stadiwm Zip World in Colwyn Bay for their season opener on Saturday, September 7, and this will be followed by another home outing in the Specsavers Cup against current holders Cardiff the following weekend.

Their first away clash of the season comes at Llandovery on September 21, with fixtures against Pontypridd and Llanelli forming their tricky looking opening as they look to get off to a positive start.

A busy festive schedule sees the Gogs’ take on Aberavon, Newport and Merthyr, with Aber and Port set to be their final two league games of the season in March and April.

There is much to organise before the start of the new season, with the club close to announcing a new head coach following the departure of Mark Jones.

Popular figure Phil John is believed to have been offered the opportunity to stay on, with a number of new players also set to come in following the high-profile departures of skipper Evan Yardley and Sam Wainwright to Cardiff and Saracens respectively.

The Gogs’ have also released their season ticket prices for the campaign ahead, which are priced at £80 adults and £64 concessions.

This covers all 11 league games but does not include Specsavers Cup or friendly fixtures.

A regular matchday ticket is priced at £10 for adults and £8 concessions, with under 16’s granted free admission to each game.

The popular 1881 package will cost £350, and anyone requiring further information on this can email MRoberts@wru.wales.

Tickets will go on sale from Wednesday, July 10 and can be purchased from Colwyn Bay Leisure Centre.
