CLWB Pêl-Droed Bangor 1876 Football Club have made another huge announcement with the appointment of their managerial team.

The fan-owned club have confirmed Mel Jones as their new manager for their inaugural season, which will see the club placed in the Gwynedd League after receiving approval from the Football Association of Wales.

The popular figure is Bangor-born and holds a UEFA A licence, and also boasts vast experience as a long-serving Head of Academy and grassroots football coach.

A Bangor 1876 FC spokesman, said: “Well-known in local footballing circles, Mel has been appointed, not only due to his coaching capabilities and know-how, but also for his reputation for developing young talent.”

Jones will be working alongside Dylan Williams, who has been confirmed as the club’s new assistant boss with immediate effect.

Williams is also a homegrown talent with experience as a successful head coach with regional development sides and was instrumental in laying the foundations for the Llandudno FC Academy.

He is also working towards securing his A Licence at the present time.

Further good news for the ambitious club saw them secure a kit deal with Teejac Sports, which “reflects a firm commitment from Bangor 1876 to work closely with local suppliers and the business community”.

The official club colours acknowledge the city’s proud footballing heritage and pays tribute to the colour scheme chosen by the founders of Bangor’s original football club in 1876.

Home shirts are royal blue with red trim, matched with white shorts and blue socks, while the change strip will red shirts, shorts and socks with blue trim.
