CAERNARFON Town have officially confirmed the signing of experienced defender Mike Pearson.

The JD Welsh Premier League side have made their first signing of the summer in the form of the talented centre-half, who arrives at The Oval after a spell at Llandudno.

Assistant manager Sean Eardley, said: “Mike’s a leader, and will bring a wealth of experience to the club, and is someone I can hang my hat on.

“I said last season that there are a few guys, like Jamie Breese up top, Gaz Evans and Gaz Edwards, lads that I can look to in difficult situations and Mike is certainly that type of player.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing how he gels with the team.”

Pearson joined Tudno last summer during wholesale changes at the club under departed manager Iwan Williams, where he was one of the bright spots of an otherwise disappointing campaign that resulted in their relegation from the top-flight.

The former Wales C international also enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Connah’s Quay Nomads and began his career as a member of the Oldham Athletic Academy system.

He also lists Barrow and Airbus Broughton among his former clubs, and he was named in the JD Welsh Premier League Team of the Season in both 2015 and 2016.

Pearson, added: “Once I got the call from Sean it was a no brainer for me really.

“I’ve known Sean since we were young boys, the side had a great year last time around and I’m hoping I can add something to the squad.

“I know a few of the boys here, and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone else and excited to getting going.”
