LLANGEFNI Town manager Chris Roberts is aiming to build on his side’s phenomenal recent success after he agreeing to remain at the club.

The newly crowned Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One champions finally secured an elusive promotion to Tier 2 North after a standout campaign that saw them finish six points clear of Bodedern Athletic, with the club also securing the Cookson Cup and reach the final of the Mawddach Challenge Cup.

The popular figure has already begun preparing for the hefty challenges that lie ahead in the second tier, which is set to be stronger than ever thanks to significant investment from a number of clubs and the introduction of Colwyn Bay and Llandudno.

Roberts, said: ‘’I am delighted with how the season went. We set out with the aim of winning the league title and getting promoted and we have achieved that.

“Cup success was a bonus, winning the Cookson, Mawddach Cup finalists, last 16 JD Welsh Cup and last eight in the FAW Trophy, I couldn’t ask for anything more from the players.

‘’I am delighted that I have committed my future to Llangefni FC, my hometown club.

“My mind is now on next season and life in the newly formed Championship. I have already held some constructive talks with the club about our objectives for next season.

“My next steps will be to continue talking to my current group of players and then work on getting some new players in to strengthen the squad further.

‘’I am fully committed to Llangefni Town FC and look forward to the challenge of taking this club up to the next level.”

Cefni have already tied down some key squad members from their double-winning campaign, with James Saxon, Matthew Jones, Cai Roberts, Dan Thomas and Gari Owen all putting pen to paper.
