LLANDUDNO manager Matthew Jones has secured his first signings since taking over as boss.

The Pioneer understands that the recently relegated side have secured the services of talented defender Gerwyn Jones, who was a primary target for the ex-Denbigh Town joint-manager immediately after taking over at the helm.

Jones is a former Wales youth international that enjoyed a standout first half of the season for Conwy Borough in the Huws Gray Alliance last term, and he has also enjoyed a successful spell at Rhyl during his playing career to date.

Another to sign on at the Giant Hospitality Stadium is striker Dean Seager, who arrives from nearby Conwy Borough.

The surprising move comes just a few short days after the Tangerines announced that the striker had committed to the club for the upcoming campaign, but Seager has made a u-turn on his initial decision to return to his hometown side.

Seager formed a prolific partnership with Corrig McGonigle over the last 18 months for Russ Williams' side.

It is expected to be a very busy summer of transfer activity at the Giant Hospitality Stadium under Jones, who took over from Gary Taylor-Fletcher after the former Premier League star stepped down after just two days in the post due to a conflict of interest.

The new arrival has been in contact with a number of players from across the region, with his recruitment receiving an additional boost with the news that skipper and talisman Danny Hughes is set to stay on at the club.
