CONWY Borough are set to boost their squad with the signing of Tomos Clarke.

The Pioneer understands that the Tangerines have made a move for the Holyhead Hotspur star, with the signing expected to be announced in the near future.

Clarke was one of the bright lights in an otherwise disappointing season for the Holy Islanders, who were relegated from the Huws Gray Alliance after finishing bottom of the standings.

He arrived at Darren Garmey’s side from Glantraeth, where he was managed by current Borough director of football Warren Gibbs.

The versatile left-footer began his career as a trainee at Oldham Athletic and also lists Colwyn Bay and Porthmadog among his former clubs.

Clarke’s arrival is a further boost to the Y Morfa side, who have a new management team in place and have got influential members of the current squad to commit for the upcoming campaign.

Dean Seager, Nathan Williams, Cory Williams and skipper Iolo Hughes have all penned new deals this week, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
