BRO Goronwy continued their strong finish to the Gwynedd League season with a 3-0 win at Mynydd Tigers.

The one-time title hopefuls moved up to third place with their final fixture of the campaign, and they are now one point ahead of Glantraeth having played a game more.

The visitors wasted no time in making their presence felt in the game and went ahead on eight minutes through a neat finish from Tom Alexander Wood, and their strong start brought further reward when Callum Thomas burst clear and finished well with 20 on the clock.

Credit to the hosts, who made things difficult for their opponents during the remainder of the contest, but they were undone again late on when Thomas turned in another chance for his second of the evening to round off the scoring.

Llanystumdwy also finished their season on a high with a 3-0 home success over Talysarn Celts.

The home side went ahead on 26 minutes when Darren Parry found the net, and the same player netted twice more in the final five minutes to complete his hat-trick and seal Llan’s fifth league win in 20 outings.
