BANGOR City’s EuroGold Stadium will be closed for the foreseeable future as a refurbishment gets underway.
The Huws Gray Alliance side confirmed the news on Thursday, April 18, with Tuesday’s U19 clash against Cefn Druids set to be the final fixture at the ground “until further notice”.
The work will include an upgrade to the playing surface, with the buildings that form the stadium also a main focus of the renovation.
General manager Luke Purcell, said: “Bangor City Football Club can confirm that the Eurogold Stadium’s pitch and building will undergo refurbishment.
“The stadium will be closed while these works are being carried out.
“The club’s under-19s fixture against Cefn Druids on Tuesday will be the final match to be played at the stadium until further notice.”
The Citizens’ venue has only been re-open for a few short weeks after it was forced to shut due to an unpaid electricity and water bill as the club revealed debts of £80,000.
These unpaid bills have now been resolved, and Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s men closed out their home campaign last weekend with an impressive victory over Flint Town United.
