YNYS Mon’s female footballers will continue their preparations for this summer’s Inter Games Tournament with a friendly fixture this week.
The talented group will take the field on Thursday at the home of Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two side Gaerwen for a contest against Bethesda Ladies.
This is the latest in what is expected to be a very busy build-up to the showcase, which is being held on Anglesey, and hopefuls will look to stake a claim within the set-up with positive performances against a strong Pesda outfit.
Manager Karen Williams, said: “We‘ve worked very hard so far this year on the training pitch, both on our fitness and on our football, and we feel it’s time now to take that next step and get a game under our belts to really assess where we’re at as a group.
“It has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm that these players have and the will to want to play and represent Anglesey in a home tournament, which is a historic moment for everyone involved in the men’s and women’s football set-ups.
“We’re very much looking forward to this first friendly and continuing to build from there. There’s just under two months to go until the tournament now, and everyone is really excited and eager to get out onto the pitch and compete together.”
