A FANTASTIC week for Menai Bridge Tigers has seen them move to within touching distance of the Gwynedd League title.

The promotion hopefuls rounded off a frantic few days with a 100 per cent record, with their latest triumph coming thanks to a 4-1 home win over Bro Goronwy.

This ensures that the championship favourites remain unbeaten in the league this term and move one point ahead of Gwalchmai with two games in hand.

They got off to the best possible start in their weekend clash thanks to an Owain Roberts effort after just three minutes, and they doubled their advantage through Sion Hogan with 14 gone.

The home side all-but sealed their victory thanks to an own goal on 18 minutes, and prolific forward Dean Redmond fired in a fourth on the hour mark. Jac Thomas netted a consolation for Bro on 62.

Gwalhcmai remain in contention for the crown thanks to a narrow 2-1 home success over Glantraeth.

Craig Evans put the hosts ahead with a minute on the clock, and a late Cory Sinnott strike sealed their triumph despite a stoppage time reply from Dion Williams.

Llanystumdwy ran riot to seal a 15-2 home rout over Bontnewydd, with Sion Guto’s clinical display resulting in seven goals throughout the clash.

Jac Jones was another standout performer and helped himself to four goals, with Darren Parry, Morgan Griffiths and Meirion Pritchard also on target.
