A NUMBER of football clubs from across Anglesey have been selected to host matches during the upcoming Inter-Games tournaments.

The Ynys Mon 2019 Tournament Organising Committee announced the host venues for this summer’s tournament, with a dozen clubs chosen for matches and training sessions.

Fixtures will take place across the island, enabling communities across Ynys Mon to sample the high standard of football set to be played during the tournament in June, with 11 club’s hosting games and one chosen to host training sessions.

Holyhead Hotspur, Llangefni Town, Amlwch Town, Gaerwen, Gwalchmai, Bodedern Athletic, Cemaes Bay, Aberffraw, Glantraeth, Bro Goronwy and Llanerchymedd will host fixtures, with teams able to train at Trearddur Bay throughout the week.

Gareth Parry, Ynys Mon 2019 project manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to confirm the host venues for fixtures and training sessions at the Ynys Mon 2019 tournament.

“We said at the very beginning that we wanted to showcase everything that our island has to offer, and in selecting 12 venues from all corners of the island, this summer’s competitors will see first-hand some of the very best the island has to offer in terms of facilities and community spirit.

“I am very grateful to all of the host clubs for their cooperation, enthusiasm and commitment regarding this tournament. Anglesey is a very passionate island when it comes to football, and it has been fantastic to see that passion come through as we’ve worked together with clubs across the island to arrange venues for what is set to be a great tournament.

“Our host clubs across the island will help provide inspiration for the next generation of footballers across Ynys Mon and give everyone a chance to be a part of this special tournament.

“Everyone is very excited to welcome the visiting islands to Ynys Mon, and they will receive a fantastic welcome from all of the host clubs.”
