YNYS Mon’s men’s football team face a stern test of their credentials in an upcoming friendly as preparations for this summer’s Inter Island Games tournament gather pace.
Campbell Harrison’s side travel to The Oval on Wednesday, March 27 (7.45pm) for a high-profile contest against top-flight side Caernarfon Town, who have enjoyed a phenomenal first season in the JD Welsh Premier League and secured a top six finish at the split as a result of their outstanding efforts.
This is the latest preparation match for Harrison and his squad hopefuls, with the side notching an impressive 2-1 win at Llandudno in January thanks to goals from Bangor City starlet Sam Jones and Holyhead Hotspur frontman John Littlemore.
Harrison, said: “Caernarfon Town are one of the biggest football clubs in Wales and we're delighted to be able to continue our preparations for this summer's Inter Games tournament on Anglesey against such a fantastic side - where two of our brightest talents have stood out this season in Danny Brookwell and Rhys Roberts.
“You can see by what the club have done in the JD Welsh Premier League this year just how fantastic a job Sean Eardley and his staff have done in guiding the Cofis back to the top of the Welsh game and that's why this is such a great test for us and one our team will benefit from massively.
"We thank Sean and all at The Oval for their help in organising this fixture and look forward to a great game on Wednesday night."
