LLANNERCHYMEDD threw a spanner in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two title picture with a 4-2 home win over Glan Conwy.

The home side were on top for the majority of the first period and went ahead on 32 minutes when Josh Griffiths converted a chance, but prolific forward Jordan Phillips produced a neat finish to bring the scores level at the break.

After the interval saw the hosts regain the initiative thanks to a Mark Jones effort on 64 minutes, and they managed to double their lead soon after when James Burgess rounded off a fine team move to put them further in the ascendancy.

A miserable day at the office for Glan was complete late on when Jones despatched his second of the afternoon on 83 minutes, and although Phillips converted a penalty in stoppage time it did not impact the overall outcome of the game.

The result enormously benefits Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs, who still lead the standings but have played two more than Glan, with Pwllheli also set to get into the championship picture if they managed to go on a good run with their games in hand after downing Aberffraw 4-2 on home soil.

Gaerwen’s recent resurgence saw them pick up another point with a 1-1 stalemate at home to Pentraeth.

Gethin Davies got the home side off to a flyer in the first period with a superb strike on 21 minutes, but the visitors picked up the tempo after the interval and secured a share of the spoils when Ryan Woods equalised with 66 on the clock.
