BANGOR City have confirmed a lucrative new sponsorship deal that has relieved some of the short-term financial problems at the club.

The Citizens’ announced that Eurogold are the new stadium sponsors at their Nantporth base, with the Huws Gray Alliance side also announcing that the company has extended their shirt sponsorship deal for next season.

A club spokesman, said: “We are very pleased to have secured the sponsorship of Eurogold for another season as well as the main shirt sponsor and the new stadium sponsor.

“The Eurogold Stadium and main shirt sponsorship deal is a five-figure sum.”

The news came just days after the club confirmed the return of Stephen Vaughan Jnr as their new chairman, with the controversial figure returning after a brief spell with Maltese Premier League side Mosta.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s squad were due to resume playing at their ground after weeks without electricity or water at the facility due to an unpaid bill on Saturday, but the contest against Penrhyncoch had to be postponed due to a waterlogged surface.

Their lack of activity did not affect their league position, with City still in contention for a top two finish should they win their games in hand.

They resume their campaign this Saturday when the group make a tricky looking trip to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochant.
