PENMAENMAWR Phoenix came from behind on two occasions to secure a 2-2 home draw with Gaerwen.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two side secured a share of the spoils after demonstrating tremendous character in the second period, but they fell behind early on when Darren Lewthwaite found the net with ten on the clock.

Phoenix responded well to the setback and levelled matters on 35 minutes when Aaron Keating finished well, but they were undone once again after the break with Gethin Davies put the away side back in front with 52 gone.

The hosts laid siege to the visiting penalty area in the closing stages, and they were rewarded with their second equaliser of the afternoon eight minutes from time when forward Alfie Caldecott rescued a point.

There was no such luck for Mochdre Sports, who were on the wrong end of a 4-1 home loss at the hands of Y Felinheli.

The struggling side had no answer for the prowess of Iwan Owen, who produced a sensational individual display to fire in a hat-trick, with Scott Roberts claiming a consolation for the home side.

Glan Conwy’s clash at Llannerchymedd was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, and they relinquished top spot as a result as Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs won 2-0 at Pentraeth.

Howard Vaughan’s men are now one points behind the Quarrymen with three games in hand.
