LLANGEFNI Town kept the pressure on Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Llandudno Albion with a thumping 7-0 home rout over Barmouth and Dyffryn United.

Chris Roberts’ side made light work of their opponents thanks to a fine attacking display, which proved more significant as Albion hammered Mynydd Llandegai 8-1 on home soil on Friday evening.

The hosts went ahead on 24 minutes when Dan Thomas fired in from close range, before further efforts from Craig Roberts and Matt Thomas gave them a comfortable cushion at the break that was befitting of their dominance.

Things continued in the same vein after the interval, with former Gaerwen striker Liam Morris hitting a quick-fire brace on 49 and 54 minutes to put the result beyond all doubt.

There was still time to rub further salt into the visitors’ wounds, with Marvin Pritchard putting away two chances in the final 15 minutes to complete the scoring.

Bodedern Athletic also remain in the hunt after a hard-fought 1-0 win at Prestatyn Sports.

A tight affair was decided on 58 minutes when Roger Jones finished well, and Ricky Williams’ side defended well late on in the face of some stern pressure for another vital three points.

Llanrug United’s title chances are all-but over after they were held to a 0-0 draw at Greenfield, with a Callum McDonald strike on 84 minutes rescuing a point for Llanberis in their 3-3 home draw with St Asaph City.

Meilir Williams, Tom Smith and Liam Watson hit two goals apiece as Penrhyndeudraeth heaped more misery on Llandudno Junction with an 8-0 home thrashing, with Sion Jones and Jack Jones also on target.
