ST ASAPH City manager Daniel Brewerton said his side are at the top of their game following their 3-1 victory over Llandudno Junction.

A blistering start from the Saints saw them extend their unbeaten run to five matches, and they have taken 13 points from a possible 15 during that span.

This has left them sitting in ninth spot in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One standings ahead of their next outing at home to Llanrwst United on Saturday (2pm).

Brewerton, said: “The result was another important three points for us, we got off to a flyer and this seemed to stun Junction.

“Junction deserve a lot of credit as second half they were a lot more organised and got a lot of men behind the ball. We had a lot good possession but didn’t create too many clear-cut chances, we were able to deal with their counter attacks and finished the game with a deserved three points.

“The lads are playing well at the minute and the squad is looking really strong with a few players returning from injuries, hopefully we can take this form into next weekend at home against Llanrwst.”

The hosts wasted no time in making an impact on proceedings and they went ahead after just 17 seconds when a quick attack saw James Williams find the net, and they doubled their tally on the quarter hour mark when John Terry headed home a pinpoint delivery from Corey Brewerton.

This was swiftly followed by a third on 19 minutes when veteran forward Duncan Midgley extended his exceptional recent run of goalscoring form when he turned in a chance after a neat passage of play, but the Railwaymen responded well to the latest setback and reduced the deficit through Richard Hughes with 25 gone.

After the interval saw both sides cancel each other out for the most part, enabling City to achieve their third successive win with minimal fuss.
